The person of our interest for this session is Mephibosheth and the account takes place about 930 years before the birth of Jesus Christ. We will be looking at a number of different men, a very special meeting and the mercy of King David. It is important to understand the era when this took place. As the last surviving member of Saul’s dynasty, the life of Mephibosheth would have been in peril. Especially with the wicked kings in Israel, the Northern kingdom and the kings of the other nations, surviving members of a former ruling family were often put to death. King David was different and had a very special reason for treating Mephibosheth as he did, even though the house of Saul did battle with the David for throne rights.
