We continued our series through the Old Testament to Christ by following Joseph down to Egypt. Through the twist and the turns, Judah is given the blessing of the line of hope. We then followed Moses through his 120 years of life to find a scattering of the Hope to come.

Finally the nation of Israel would enter the promised land and have a place of to call home. However, they did not obey God completely and the surrounding nations would be a thorn in their side causing the Judges to be necessary. A shadow of hope arises out of the story of Ruth and Boaz continuing the line of Judah.

We picked up our series through the Old Testament to Christ Samuel as the Prophet over Israel. We then followed the establishment of the Kingdom of Israel through the anointing of Saul. We finished by looking at Messianic implications from the reign of David and Solomon through the united kingdom.

After the successful reigns of David and Solomon, the story takes a dark turn with the splitting of the kingdom during Rehoboam's reign. We traced the two kingdoms of Israel and Judah and the dark days of evil king after evil king. We briefly visited God’s glory resting in the temple and later exiting the temple never to return. Our lesson concluded with a number of prophesies about the coming Messiah that gave a glimmer of hope during an otherwise hopeless exilic time.
