Contemporary discussions of worship are heavily influenced by debates over the relationship between Christianity and culture, yet such debates often miss an important component—a biblical definition of culture. This lesson seeks to fill this gap concerning the nature of, and Christian response to, culture. It asserts that the concept in the New Testament closest to the contemporary notion of culture is “behavior” and then proposes principles from these conclusions that apply to contextualization and worship in an ever-increasing global society.
