Our Lord Jesus, in his concern and mercy for men, believed it was important to warn people about hell, and he urged them to escape it through following him. Mark 9:42-50 is an example of one of these occasions. Jesus’ words urge us to escape the suffering of hell in eternity through absolute devotion to Jesus in the present.
