Neglecting the Poor for Jesus’ Sake

It is always important to examine ourselves according to an essential question: why do we do what we do? In this account of Mary's worship of Christ, we are taught that it is right to lavish our resources upon Christ as an expression of our love for Him. But if we do not truly love Him, what else may be our motivation? The narrative suggests at least two alternatives which challenge us.
