In delivering Israel from Egypt, God discloses Himself as the Redeemer of His people. God perpetuates His great redemption by means of a continual commemoration woven into the fabric of Israel's society, pointing ultimately to the "redemption that is in Christ Jesus" (Rom 3:24).
