Lest Timothy become discouraged that certain members of the Ephesian church have wandered away from the faith, Paul reminds him that the foundation of the church-that solid base of those who genuinely know and love the Father-is firm and secure. Why is Paul so certain? The "seal" which the Father has placed upon His own foundation offers two divine criteria to determine who belong to Him.
