The Glory of a Manger

The story of the birth of Jesus is filled with awe and wonder: a virgin gives birth to the Son of God in the flesh, the angelic host announcing the birth to the shepherds and praising God, the shepherds arriving to find Mary, Joseph, and Jesus. So many glorious events taking place. But how does a manger fit into all of this. Is there any glory to be found in the manger?

As Paul wraps up his second letter to the Thessalonians, he expresses his heart-felt desire for them. He prays for peace that can only come from the Lord. He sets their minds at ease by giving them confidence in the truths that he has just shared. He concludes with a benediction calling for the grace of God to be at work in all of their lives.
