Life can get extremely busy. The pressure to accomplish our objectives for the day is very real. As we take a look at a day in the life of Jesus, we see that he had to deal with those same issues but on a much larger scale. What were his priorities in the midst of a demanding schedule? How did he stay focused on what was truly important?

As Jesus' ministry begins to spread, we quickly see him exercising the authority of the Son of God. He demonstrates his authority in the way that he calls his followers, in the way that he teaches, and in the way that he deals with demons and disease. His fame spreads throughout the entire region as people witness the power of God in their midst.

As Mark continues to reveal Jesus Christ, the Son of God, he quickly moves through important events that lay the foundation for Jesus' entire ministry. Not only do these events explain more about who Jesus is but they also foreshadow the work that God has sent him to do.

Mark begins his gospel with the glorious announcement of Jesus Christ as the Son of God. However, through the eyes of several different witnesses to this fact, it quickly becomes apparent that things may not work out exactly as we would expect. We will find as we work through this gospel that things do not always work out according to our expectations, but God's plan is always perfect.

The Gospel of Mark is fast moving and hard-hitting! It was written to introduce Jesus Christ as the suffering servant, the savior, and the Son of God. However, its purpose goes beyond just a description of who Jesus is to an invitation to you to place your faith in him in a way that will change your life!
