What Will You Do with Jesus?

As we look at the end of Mark chapter 3, we see that the teachings of Jesus and the accompanying miracles of his ministry can only lead to one of three conclusions. He is either a lunatic, a liar, or the Lord. The questions for you is, after being confronted with the truth and it’s evidence, what will you do with Jesus? The answer to that question will determine your relationship with God and your eternal destiny.

In the midst of the enormous pressures of his ministry, Jesus takes time to focus on the priorities of his ministry. We will see from the example of Jesus that the measure of success in ministry is not the size of the crowds but the individuals whose lives are changed.

In his last confrontation with the Pharisees, Jesus emphasized that a proper understanding of who he is as the bridegroom and the joy that his presence should bring is more important that ritual observances. In this encounter, he will demonstrate that compassion for others in need is more important that legalistic observance of the sabbath.

We live in a day where truth has become relative and tolerance is the objective when it comes to religion and doctrine. However, in his confrontation with the Pharisees over fasting, Jesus will make it clear that the truth of who he is and the message of the gospel is absolute. You cannot add to it, change it, or adapt it to your preferences.
