The Roman statesman Circero said that to be ignorant of what happened before you were born is to be forever a child. His observation coincides with the teaching of the New Testament which urges believers to conduct themselves with wisdom and discernment during their age (Ephesians 5:15-17; Titus 2:11-12; Hebrews 5:14). These sessions are a survey of the development of western thought, helping us to understand why we think the way we do so that we can be wiser about our conduct as believers in Christ.
