The gospel makes a stunning claim. The transcendent Creator of the universe made himself low in order to exalt those who place their faith in him to heights of glory. As Paul expresses it in 2 Cor 8:9, Jesus Christ impoverished himself in order that we might be made rich. This verse focuses our attention on at least three remarkable aspects of this unimaginable exchange.
